Longdan royal purple rice is a fibre-rich variety, loved for its nutty-sweet taste and health benefits. When raw, this rice is black, but once cooked it takes on a deep purple hue with a chewy texture. Compared to white rice, purple rice is much higher in antioxidants, as well as being a great source of protein and iron.
Use Longdan royal purple rice to make homemade sushi or serve with teriyaki salmon. We also love using this purple variety to make a striking rice pudding.
